We live in the tropics (Singapore) so our Miss 2 (well 2 on Saturday) has a shower with Daddy in the morning and a bath or shower at night. As you can imagine with an active wee dot there is a lot of sweating going on.
I usually bathe my 3 year old every other day. Especially in the winter when we both get so dry.
In the summer, its often daily as we're either in the pool or digging in the dirt.
Sometimes I feel a little guilty because it seems most people bathe daily, but our skin just can't take it!
The 4 yr. old girl is almost every day. And she only gets to skip when she's not gone anywhere that day and has no where to go the next day. The baby is at least every other day. Mainly because he loves it and it calms him down before bed time.
My kids are 2, 6, and 8. We do every other night. Now that the 8 year olds shower themselves, its not as bad. But I still wouldn't want to do it every night.
Both of mine have sensitive skin, so we generally went with the every other day bath. DD is nearly 14 now, and bathes/showers daily. DS is nearly 11, and is still an every other day kid, unless he's doing a sport, and then it's every other day plus sports nights. Like right now--he's a stinky, smelly after-basketball kind of kid, so it's definitely a shower night!
both my boys take a shower/bath every night. we've always done it that way and it just became so much of our nighttime routine that we've never really strayed from it. if we are out late or something, we'll let them skip, but 99% of the time they bathe every day :)
That was us too, Kelly. It's always been part of the routine. But we are getting busier and busier so it ends up being every other day. Sometimes there's two days in between but I usually only do that if the weekend is looming. My kids love bathing and I usually have to drag them out. I like hearing them play with their bath things and sing and stuff, so I usually consider it play time, time away from an electronic device, alone time, so wouldn't have a problem bathing them every day. Morgan takes care of herself and Payton just needs me at shampoo time. :)
that's exactly the way we view them too, dav. it's great wind down time for them both after a long day. plus i think they're used to going to bed "clean"..jackson always tells me it feels weird to go to bed w/out a shower first. ha.
My toddler usually goes 1-2 days in between baths, depending on what we have going on. In the summer he often has a bath every night because he gets so filthy and sweaty though.
My almost 10 yo takes a bath nearly every night. She plays hard and needs a bath most nights, especially on days she has basketball or softball practice. If we have a particularly lazy day I sometimes let her skip a night but that's very rare!
we are every other day but the little one LOVES baths so if she asks for one I let her take one. My oldest (8) needs to be every night if she has had gym or soccer and this summer will be every night. She also wears deodorant daily.
um. twice daily. showers though, not baths. i can't imagine going to bed 'dirty' ... singapore is so hot - some days i shower more than twice in a day.
AT that age, every other day, and after sporting events. After any hot sweaty summer days, i usually hosed them off in the shower for a few minutes, had them soap up, then hosed them down again. We called it the 3 minute rinse!
It depended on the time of year. In the Winter we'd often skip a day but in the summer they need one every day. But basically, if they aren't dirty then I don't feel the need to do so every day. It really does dry out the skin.
my kids only bathe twice a week. My son has severe excema and if he bathes more regularly his skin really flairs up. My eldest daughter 6, will sometimes have a shower in between baths.
I have been advised by two doctors - a dermatologist and an allergy specialist that twice a week is sufficient to keep small children clean.
We are coming out of a 10 year drought so water has not been very plentiful. We are very mindful of how we use the water we have. The kids all go in together.
Every night we wash them with a flannel and if they are dirty they go in the bath of course.
Every day. Sometimes more. This Australian heat gets us too hot and sticky. It's a good thing my 5-year-old has been showering himself since he was 4... so it's just our 14month old we have to worry about, but he's just started showering too! Whooo hoo for no longer having to fill the baby tub!
Toddlers, preschoolers, elem. kids? Daily? Every other day? Just curious....

My 8 y/o, almost every day, definitely after sports/activities. She needs to wear deodorant regularly.
My 5 y/o, every other day.
both are girls.
My 3 and almost 6 year old are Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday... and extra in between if need be. I am always curious about this too ;)

the bigs are mostly every other day, but every day if they need it.
the little (4) has super dry skin + eczema, so he's usually twice a week.

Mine used to bathe every day. Now it's every other day, depending on what they got in their hair, lol. Payton bathes, Morgan showers.

Every other day.... we had to haul our own water.

That makes a difference Marcy!

I learn something new every day. :) I don't have children yet. I take a shower every day so I just assumed children were typically bathed every day.
My 17 month old girl gets a bath everyday. She actually loves the bath and will point to the tub for a bath LOL
My almost six and almost four year old kids get a bath every other day.
